Riya Moodley will be presenting the following paper at the next North London TB Journal Club: Efficiency and safety of the combination of moxifloxacin, pretomanid (PA-824), and pyrazinamide during the first 8 weeks of antituberculosis treatment: a phase 2b, open-label, partly randomised trial in patients with drug-susceptible or drug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis.
Background:
New antituberculosis regimens are urgently needed to shorten tuberculosis treatment. Following on from favourable assessment in a 2 week study, we investigated a novel regimen for efficacy and safety in drugsusceptible and multidrug-resistant (MDR) tuberculosis during the first 8 weeks of treatment. You can find the Lancet publication here.
The group will also be considering the following paper: “Principles for designing future regimens for multidrug-
resistant tuberculosis.”
Riya has just started as a clinician on the STREAM trial at the Clinical Trials Unit, Patrick Philips will be chairing the session.
Please note that the club will be held in a room that you can only access after being issued with a security pass. We will all meet as a group in the foyer of the Clinical Trials Unit by 12pm and go to the room as a group, it will not be possible to join after that time. We strongly advise you to book a ticket with eventbrite so that we know number and can keep you informed of any changes.
